We just posted an advertisement for a 2 bedroom condominium available for rent. An older woman called to say she is looking for a place for her son. We asked for her son’s age … she said he’s 45 years old. Red flag!
Over the years, we’ve had several calls from parents looking for a rental for adult children. Based on our experience, it’s usually a problem child the parent is trying to remove from their home. The adult child may have moved back home due to a divorce, job loss, or financial difficulty. If an adult is not responsible enough to make their own phone calls to find a rental, we are very hesitant to move forward … A big red stop sign should begin flashing!
