A few years ago we purchased a 2 bedroom 1 bath foreclosure condominium in a highrise building built in 1966. The condominium has 3 old HVAC systems that are fan coil units. All 3 appeared to be original equipment so we knew they would need to be replaced them at some point in the near future. We contacted HVAC contractors to get estimates, and all of of the estimates were in the $3,000 ballpark. To replace all 3 units, it would be close to $10,000 — ouch!

We decided to search for equipment on the internet and found a brand new fan coil unit for $997 — yes! All all we need is qualified HVAC contractor to install the unit … We have had excellent success with Home Advisors, so we submitted a service request at www.homeadvisors.com. Fortunately, a contractor offered to install the brand new fan coil unit for only $500 bucks!
